Maidstone-based local housing association Golding Homes has partnered with industry leaders Nationwide Windows & Doors for a long-term replacement project that will see an annual investment of approximately £2.9m over the next five years.
As part of their on-going improvement programme, the upgrading of customers’ windows and doors is key to Golding’s sustainability commitment to increase the energy efficiency and affordability of homes.
Established in 2004, Golding Homes is an award-winning housing association which owns and manages more than 8,500 homes in Kent, providing homes for more than 29,000 people. Golding has invested over £283m regenerating homes and neighbourhoods.
Committed to supporting customers
Tom Casey, Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management at Golding, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve started our five-year contract working with Nationwide Windows and that they’re using skilled local tradesmen to do the fitting.
“We’re committed to maintaining the fabric of our homes and supporting our customers to keep their homes warm and efficient to run. Well-fitted doors and windows will help to limit drafts and heat escaping, and so help save energy, and contribute to reduced bills.”
The current programme will aim to fit 500 homes with high-quality replacement windows and doors each year as part of a new long-term partnership with Nationwide.
Strengthening a robust working relationship
Christina Murray, Project Management Lead at Golding, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Nationwide and strengthening a robust working relationship to support the escalation and delivery of replacement windows and doors on a significant scale, improving our stock and helping us to give our customers homes that are warm, safe, and comfortable.
“With teams now established on both sides of the agreement, information is being exchanged quickly and efficiently and our initial pilot program has been completed with fantastic results.”
Golding’s agreement with Nationwide includes a detailed warranty arrangement. This and the quality standards of their product, will help deliver EPC standards targets and manage the increasingly challenging damp and mould issues housing providers like Golding continue to work hard to address.
Happy Customers
Golding customer Janet Almeida said of her new windows: “It’s great to be able to keep the warmth in and the noise out. There are no longer any pockets of cold air.
Communication about the works has been consistent and good. We’ve been told what’s going to happen and when. It’s been a good experience.”
James Sullivan, a Golding customer for nine years, commented: “The new windows have made a real difference to the whole street. It’s good having pride in your street. Once my windows were in, I took the opportunity to repaint the front and give things a facelift.”
Focussing on community
Kevin Caveney, Director of Commercial Sales at Nationwide, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be in partnership with Golding Homes. It’s always a pleasure to work with an organisation that shares our passion and commitment to providing outstanding customer service and quality.
“At Nationwide, we are very much focused on community, both the community where we are based and the communities in which we operate. We have established a local installation hub to service this contract, creating employment opportunities in the area.
“We’re looking forward to building even further on what is already a great working relationship with Golding Homes.”
