Nationwide Windows’ Adrian Pavey takes to the sky!

Adrian Pavey, Commercial Director of window and door supplier to the social housing and new build sectors, Nationwide Windows & Doors, is taking to the sky at 135mph in a Wingwalk experience to raise money for Myton Hospice and PAPYRUS.

“It all started as a Christmas present from my wife Steph who gifted me a Wingwalk experience when I said I wanted to do something different,” explains Adrian, “and this is certainly different! Anyone who knows me will know how far I’m prepared to go to help others, but cruising 135mph at 500ft is certainly the biggest challenge I’ve ever undertaken.

“The reason I’m going through with it is to raise money for two amazing charities: Myton Hospice and PAPYRUS. I’m hoping to raise £3000 in total for these two fantastic causes and have so far achieved 70% of this target.

“Three thousand pounds will provide much needed fund to these amazing charities, one dedicated to helping sufferers and their families by easing the journey to end of life, the other established to prevent young people from committing suicide.

“Myton Hospice is a charity which is very close to my heart as they cared for my mum in the last days of her life. The hospice provides compassionate end of life care, centering on patient wellbeing and enabling more quality time with their loved ones. Last year they supported more than 1,400 people and their families, in their three hospices, via patient and family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. Each year they have to raise £8.8 million to continue providing care.

“PAPYRUS is a community of people with the shared vision that many young suicides are preventable. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people in the UK; 1,666 people under 35 took their own life in 2016. They aim to create a society free of the stigma surrounding suicide, with the resources to support young people who may be struggling. PAPYRUS believes suicide need not be the inevitable outcome of feeling suicidal and that with the right help, support, and advice, together we can save young lives.”

Adrian will be taking to the skies on 30th May 2018.
