As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering social value across the communities it serves, Nationwide Windows & Doors is proud to support The Pioneer Group by replacing three windows at The Sanctuary – a vital community hub in Birmingham.
Located in Castle Vale, The Sanctuary is a welcoming space for local residents to connect, access support, and take part in a wide range of activities. The building plays a central role in helping Pioneer deliver its mission to provide more than just housing, by fostering strong, resilient communities.
With several windows in poor condition, the building was becoming increasingly difficult and costly to maintain. In response, Nationwide has stepped in to supply and fit three brand new, energy-efficient windows – helping to create a warmer, more comfortable and secure space for the community to enjoy.
“The Sanctuary is the focal point for community activities,” said Leonie Hammond, Contracts Manager at Pioneer Group. “It’s important that we make the hub welcoming and comfortable, and maintaining the fabric of the building plays a huge part in that. These new windows will not only improve the building’s appearance, but they’ll also help reduce heating costs – which means more resources can be directed towards community support.”
The partnership forms part of Nationwide’s wider social value strategy, which ensures that every contract it delivers provides tangible benefits to the communities involved. From volunteering time and expertise to offering local apprenticeships and in-kind donations, Nationwide continues to go above and beyond for its clients and their residents.
“Social value isn’t just a buzzword – it’s embedded in everything we do,” said Kevin Caveney, Commercial Sales Director at Nationwide. “We’re proud to support Pioneer with this contribution to a facility that makes a huge difference for local people.”
The window replacements at The Sanctuary are due to be completed with minimal disruption to services and the upgrade is expected to make an immediate impact in terms of comfort, energy efficiency, and the overall visitor experience.
