Nationwide spreads festive cheer with Christmas tree donation to Castle Vale

Nationwide Windows and Doors has brought the spirit of the season to Castle Vale in North Birmingham with the donation of a magnificent 14-foot Christmas tree, now permanently planted in Centre Park.

This generous gesture, part of the company’s ongoing partnership with modern-day housing association The Pioneer Group, symbolises community spirit and will serve as a focal point for festive celebrations for years to come.

The tree, adorned with 60 metres of Christmas lights also donated by Nationwide, was officially unveiled during a ‘lights switch-on’ event on 5 December. Local residents gathered to enjoy the festivities as the tree was illuminated to mark the start of the holiday season.

This initiative is the latest in a series of collaborations between Nationwide and The Pioneer Group, which manages more than 2,000 homes in Castle Vale. Previous projects include a comprehensive windows and doors replacement programme, enhancing energy efficiency and security for local residents.

Simon Wilson, Chief Executive at The Pioneer Group, commented: “The Christmas Tree lights switch-on is a wonderful way to bring our community together. We’re incredibly thankful to Nationwide Windows and Doors for their generous support. Their donation stands as a testament to the power of partnerships in fostering community spirit.”

Councillor Ray Goodwin also praised the collaborative effort: “This event showcases the strength of partnerships in Castle Vale. My heartfelt thanks to The Pioneer Group and Nationwide Windows and Doors for making this festive celebration possible.”

Nationwide is dedicated to creating meaningful social value through its work. The donation of the Christmas tree reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing community well-being and fostering enduring partnerships and demonstrates how businesses can make a positive impact with thoughtful contributions that resonate deeply within the communities they serve.

Kevin Caveney, Director of Commercial Sales at Nationwide, said: “We are proud to support Castle Vale with this donation. The Christmas tree represents more than festive decor – it’s a lasting symbol of unity and joy. We hope it becomes a cherished centrepiece for the community, especially during the holiday season.”
