Nationwide Windows and Doors (NWD) has partnered with Maidstone-based local housing association Golding Homes to provide high-quality, socially-engaging seating for residents. With a total of 21 new benches delivered, the initiative aims to enhance community spaces, providing a welcoming place to gather, relax, and enjoy the surroundings.
The benches have already been warmly received. A Golding customer from Park Wood said: “I can’t wait to have a nice cup of coffee in the sun out here!”
Also, during the transporting and installation of the benches, delivery driver Wilfred treated the team to a piano performance, adding a special touch to the occasion.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Nationwide for their support and partnership on this project,” commented Alice Ditcher, Community and Customer Engagement Advisor at Golding Homes. “The benches have exceeded our expectations and have already become a valued part of our community spaces.”
Kevin Caveney, Director of Commercial Sales at Nationwide, said: “We recognise how our engagement can positively impact social value and take our commitments seriously. However, it’s not always straightforward identifying projects where residents can obtain immediate tangible benefits.”
“That’s why we’re particularly delighted to have been able to contribute to such a worthwhile project as this one. It underscores our commitment to fostering community spaces through collaboration to enhance community life.
“It’s great to hear that residents are already enjoying the benches and it just goes to show how these simple additions can make such a meaningful impact on local communities.”
