“Being involved in eight NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards is testament to the consistent high quality of our products and installations,” says Steve Colledge, National Site Operations Manager at Nationwide Windows and Doors.
The prestigious awards are highly recognised throughout the industry by showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence. The Pride in the Job awards continue to inspire site managers to build homes of the highest quality.
“Being recognised in one development is an achievement but eight is outstanding,” continues Steve. “This year, more than any other year in our history, we have overcome the most complex of on-site challenges.”
After Lockdown 1.0, Nationwide Windows and Doors developed a complete onsite process to keep both its teams and other site personnel safe. Before any Nationwide teams went out on site, they were brought in for extra safety training to maintain the highest of standards to reduce the chances of contracting COVID-19. So good were the systems it put in place, that often they were adopted by other people working on the same sites.
The projects that included NWD were Fairfields (both Phase 1A and 1B) in Milton Keynes, Hares Chase in Swindon, Buckton Fields in Boughton, Coombelands Gardens in Addleston, Saxon Gate in Wickwar, as well as Phase 2B and 2C of the Royal Park development in Nuneaton.
Steve adds: “We pride ourselves on our people first policy that includes high levels of training for extra care when it comes to safety and manual handling. The recognition given to us through the Pride in the Job scheme has been positively received by all those involved in the manufacture and installation of the windows and doors at Nationwide, and it’s a great way for us to show that the extra care and commitment we deliver on site is appreciated.”
