More than 1,500 residents came together on Castle Vale for a day of celebration, activities and community pride, as the area’s community festival once again showcased the strength and spirit of the neighbourhood.
Organised by The Pioneer Group, the festival plays an important role in bringing residents of all ages together while highlighting the services and opportunities available across the estate.
Nationwide Windows & Doors supported the event as part of its ongoing partnership with Pioneer, helping ensure the festival remained safe, accessible and welcoming for families across the community.
Located in north-east Birmingham, Castle Vale has undergone significant regeneration in recent decades and continues to foster a strong sense of belonging through resident-led initiatives and neighbourhood partnerships, with the festival now firmly established as a highlight of the community calendar.

Nationwide’s funding helped provide essential infrastructure including gazebos, toilets and professional first-aid cover, alongside family attractions such as inflatables, a colour run and nature-based activities, as well as merchandise that helped create a memorable day for younger attendees.
The contribution forms part of Nationwide’s wider commitment to creating positive social value in the communities it serves, working alongside housing partners to support initiatives that improve wellbeing and strengthen local connections.
Kevin Caveney, Director of Commercial Sales at Nationwide Windows & Doors, said: “We know how important safe outdoor spaces can be for families going through challenging times, so it’s fantastic to see communities coming together through events like the Castle Vale festival. Projects like this create opportunities for people to connect and celebrate their neighbourhood, and we’re proud our Social Value Fund could help make that possible.”
Leonie Hammond, Contracts Manager at The Pioneer Group, added: “The social value funding provided by Nationwide has had a transformative impact on both individuals and the wider Castle Vale community, allowing us to bring people closer together and create overwhelmingly positive outcomes for residents.”
