Nationwide provide ‘Platform’ for Crofton Gardens transformation
Founded in 1967, Platform Housing Group has grown to become a vital housing provider across the Midlands, managing more than 49,000 homes and supporting over 120,000 residents. A perfect example of this is the recent Crofton Gardens project in Birmingham, to replace existing timber windows and balcony doors. Nationwide Windows & Doors (NWD) was contracted to take on this crucial project, operating out of their Rugby depot. The scope of work included the removal of the old timber windows in flats and common areas and replacing them with modern PVCu units, along with the installation of new balcony doors. Platform’s Senior Surveyor, Jayshill Patel, was responsible for overseeing the Section 20 and design approvals, while Programme Surveyor Emma Cunningham ensured a successful project delivery which was reflected in the resident feedback. The new PVCu windows and balcony doors have transformed the living experience for Crofton Gardens residents. Many expressed their joy and relief, as they are now able to decorate their homes without worrying about damage caused by faulty windows. The white interior frames have brightened the properties, making them feel more secure and welcoming. Residents now take pride in their homes, and many have started inviting visitors over with a renewed sense of comfort. Jackie Perry, the Scheme Manager at Crofton Gardens, emphasised the positive impact of Nationwide. “I have had lots of praise from all my residents about how polite and courteous the contractors were. They were very accommodating and worked around residents’ needs with no complaints whatsoever. It’s good feedback from both the residents and myself – a job well done by all.” The Crofton Gardens project is a testament to the successful collaboration between Platform Housing Group and Nationwide. By ensuring a smooth project delivery, the partnership has improved the quality of life for the residents. The project not only enhanced the aesthetic and security of the homes but also fostered a stronger sense of community pride.
